Been to Bean Market?
Published Dec 02, 2008

Beans are good for you, and they’re also good for the Lake City Community Museum.
The museum has acquired the historic downtown Bean Market and will now use the building to showcase the history of the region that was settled in 1734. The Bean Market dates to 1936 when Lake City was home to the largest bean market in the world.
The one-story masonry building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and work is currently under way to stabilize the structure. Once opened, the museum will include exhibits, a video and film room, workrooms and a large reception hall.
