Look Up in the Sky - at Francis Marion
Published Dec 02, 2008

Look, up in the sky - from Francis Marion University.

The Dooley Planetarium on campus provides visitors with an incredible view of outer space, thanks to a high-tech projector that shows 2,354 stars on a 33-foot dome. The planetarium has 73 seats for students, special groups and the public.

The Spitz-512 Star Projector is accompanied by a stereo sound system that helps present a realistic illusion of celestial objects and their apparent motion in the sky.

Dooley Planetarium is primarily used as a tool to assist in the teaching of science to school groups in South Carolina. Go to astro.fmarion.edu/planet to learn more about the planetarium.
